My name is Megan Friel and I'm the eighteen year-old editor of Sparrow Tree Square. In addition to choosing each issue's theme and literary selections, I write the regular features for Sparrow Tree Square, format the magazine, and maintain this website. I enjoy reading poetry and fiction of all kinds, both modern and classic. Someday, I hope to be a writer in my own right, and I'm currently preparing a young adult novel manuscript for submission for publication.

I am also currently the president of the Downbeach New Jersey chapter of Youth United for Global Action and Awareness.
