My name is Megan Friel and I'm the nineteen year-old editor of Sparrow Tree Square. In addition to choosing each issue's theme and literary selections, I write the regular features for Sparrow Tree Square, format the magazine, and maintain this website. I enjoy reading poetry and fiction of all kinds, both modern and classic. I was recently interviewed by the editors of The Writer's Guide to 2010 and The Writer's Guide to 2011 on the subject of children's literature.

More than anything, I believe my experience being homeschooled from age 11 to 18 has led me to develop an interest in classic literature. I am currently a rising sophomore and Betty Bean Black scholar at Sweet Briar College.
