From July 2006 through July 2010, Sparrow Tree Square published monthly magazines featuring public domain literature and vintage color and black-and-white illustrations. New issues are currently on hiatus while Sparrow Tree Square prepares to launch an exciting new project in June 2013.
Each issue is centered around a topic or theme, and features a variety of literature that includes poems, traditional songs, stories, and folktales. Every issue also includes an introduction and book review, and issues from April 2007 onward include two more regular features: Connections and Activities. These features are designed to encourage further exploration of the topics introduced in the magazine.
The entire Sparrow Tree Square magazine archive is available free of charge in a printable PDF format. You will need the free Adobe Reader program to view the files. To get started browsing the archive, click on a year on the left to see all of the issues from that year.
